Fredericktown is located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, surrounded on three sides by the Mark Twain National Forest. Our community was settled in 1819 by French settlers with the latest census report showing a population of just under 4000. We are the County Seat of Madison County with a population over 12000 and home to the Madison County Courthouse. Built in 1900 and designed by architect Theodore Link, it has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
